Re: Candles

I believe candles and aerosols are perfectly fine - we had tons of them (don't ask) and despite out shipment being ripped apart and examined closely, none were removed. There's no animal/disease/duty questions so I don't see why they'd care, and it's not on the list here, for sure: http://www.daffa.gov.au/aqis/travel/...alia/cant-take

Meanwhile, used fork handles could actually be a problem - garden tools would have soil on them, and AQIS doesn't like soil. And I suppose if they're raw wood, even new wooden fork handles could be a problem.

(Shirl, if you have no idea what TCM and I are talking about, this may help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cz2-ukrd2VQ )

Candles and aerosols should be fine. Bear in mind though that it can get mighty hot in the containers in the Southern summer and it's going to be mid December before it arrives here.

Is there not something against bees wax candles? Might be wrong and I don't have time to research it. Sorry.

What about aerosols being flammable under heat? Haven't checked AQIS stuff but personally I wouldn't want to risk my worldly possessions going up in smoke from an exploding aerosol......(I may just be very uninformed!!)

Ordinary candles are fine though. I brought loads, and the only one which melted did so after it arrived!

Fine as long as not bees wax. Aerosols are fine but depends what's in them

I know we had to take all the batteries out of the toys etc before we packed them. Corrosion and heat again (I think).......

Re: Candles

I had beeswax...probably just an oversight.

It would have to be a bloody hot day before an aerosol spontaneously combusted!

I put my candles in a plastic bag just in case they melted.. but they didn't.. as someone else has said on here, they have all wilted now in the queensland heat!
