Try the NSW SES or NSW Rural Fire Service sites, might have infoon them; I know the NSW RFS page on Facebook is pretty good. Haven't got links I'mafraid, cos I'm on the iThing.

Shouldnt think it would be that bad - it'd have to accumulate a heck of a lot of water for it to flood the road and from what people have been saying it hasnt filled as much as you think it might have done.

The live desktop map looks pretty comprehensive http://livetraffic.rta.nsw.gov.au/desktop.html

Good luck to Mrs W at JJ (good place to be going to!)

Tried both this morning, but neither seem to have actual flood information on roads.

The road would be highly unlikely to be flooded. I'll ask a mate of mine who has a view of the lake from his property if it's grown significantly.

Thinking further about this if the road was flooded we would be sure to know - it being the major route out of here.

I'll be going out that way soon. It takes a surprising amount of rain to fill it up, but I reckon this might just do it. Another 50mm forecast tomorrow.

My husband almost got stranded in Canberra on Thursday night - his flight to Melbourne to catch the international flight got cancelled and I had visions of him being trapped there forever! He's home now thank goodness but he said he had never seen it so green in Feb and the garden looked like a jungle as the d-i-l hadnt been able to get on top of it (the kids are living in our house). He had some mail for me in his backpack and it was sodden - his pack had obviously been outside on Thursday night some time and the rain had seeped through even though it is a sturdy "waterproof" backpack.

Loving looking at the damcam at the Cotter - it's pretty impressive to see all that water!

Wow, some amazing pics there - the view from Hindmarsh Dr was particularly spectacular IMHO
