Default Can you ship beanbags?

Hi folks,

In the process of trying to figure out what we will take and then it occured to me that I might not be able to take to kids beanbags that they adore!

Anyone in the know about this?

Cheers

Ginny

I did..

they were marked as bean bags on the AQIS forms and they weren't checked by quarantine.

We emptied the beans from ours and just brought the 'skin'. Bags of beans are cheap enough from K-Mart

Though actually we did that for space reasons rather than AQIS.

Not wishing to appear daft or anything but they are polystyrene beads not actual beans

No silly. Actual beans don't come in bags. They come in cans, with tomato sauce

No trouble with the beanbag in our shipment but this thread does remind me of a very minor delay we had clearing our cases on arrival in Sydney. We had taken a two week holiday on route and with three children there were quite a few cuddly toys in the cases. Having x-rayed them, they pulled one case to the side and asked if we had any food in it..... sweets?.... or seeds? I told them that there was nothing edible in the case but they insisted on opening it and turned out that the x-ray had picked up the filling on a "beany" stuffed animal! But they let us all in ok!

I remember reading about Beanie Babies being an issue on here before. My daughter has got absolutely loads of them so I'm hoping its not likely to be a problem! :scared:

A slight detour from the main topic. I've got one of those Japanese style 'buckwheat' filled pillows. Took me ages to find one in a continental size. After reading on the AQIS and the testing of the buckwheat, I'm not taking it with me!
