Hi
Does any one know if by having an Australian permenant resident visa or Australian citizenship, does this give you the right to live or work in New zealand ?

Australian citizens are exempt from the requirement to hold a visa to travel to New Zealand or a permit to be in New Zealand, and residents of Australia are exempt from the requirement to obtain a temporary or residence visa.
It's not a good idea for an Australian permanent resident to live in New Zealand, because time spent in NZ does not count for Australian Resident Return visa or citizenship purposes.
And people New Zealand permanent residence have no special rights in Australia.
People who 'hop' between Australia and New Zealand without citizenship in at least one of the two run a risk of ending up with no status in either country.
Usually it's best to get your citizenship before you even think about moving.
