Smile Can we get UK TV's to work in Oz?

Hi

We have finally got our container from England (in Melbourne) after having to wait 5 months! We thought that our televisions would work here but there seems to be a problem particularly with the sound reception. Does anyone know if there is anything that can be done, such as a different cable, to make them compatible here?

Thanks

Karen

You need to tune it in through an Aus video player or DVD player or Digital set top box Karen.

Just buy a cheap Oz video recorder and put your tv through that and you will get sound nice and clear.

UK tvs work on a PAL I signal and aussie uses PAL B/G-if you can access any settings menus on your tv you may be able to change to the correct signal type if it is a fairly new model.
otherwise as other people have advised a digital box will cure it-my local Woolies has them for $79.

Also have a search on the net for your make/model TV engineers manual.

just use a set top box / VCR of some form

use a scart / RGB / composite (yellow plug) connection to your telly rather than the RF 'ariel' input
