Can I teach science in Perth?
Hi all,
I am a 23 year old trainee teacher. My parents and I are flying to Perth on the 1st June. I am currently studying a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Liverpool. I am going to return to Liverpool and continue to do my NQT year next year then follow my parents out to Perth. I was wondering is this a suitable recognisable certificate for me to be able to teach in Perth? I will be fully qualified by the time I return. Is there any any shortages in Secondary Science teachers in W.A? What sort of salary would I be looking at?
Thanks
Danny

You will need to get registered in due course. Details are at the bottom of the page on the link below.

I don't have any ideas on the rest of your post, although just from reading around on BE I think you stand a better chance of finding opportunities with being a science teacher.

Yes, as a science teacher you should be in a better position.
Also try the fee paying schools, Catholic etc.

Yes Science teachers are in demand but some states don't recognise a PGCE without 3 years experience to back it up.
There are lots of posts on this in the Jobs section of the site. http://britishexpats.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=80
Hope that helps
