Booze over in the container?

I want to take some Scrumpy Jack over for someone but don't know if it legal or not.

Depending on the quantity, I think it is over 2.5l, it has to be declared, and you may have to pay duty. Be on the safe side and declare it and they may let it through. Scrumpy Jack is available through Dan Murphy's liqour superstores in Australia for about $75 a slab.

Its the same duty free allowance as entering on a plane. Anything else you pay duty on.

Personally I would not bother as it just will cause additional delay in your container.

This is the advice I was told by someone... basically you can bring it over in the container provided a) you declare it b) you expect to pay duty on it and c) it may well hold up your container...

Perhaps the Fosters doesnt look so unappealing?! LOL! *wink wink*

The old's came over 2 yrs ago... would drink nothing but cider.. could we find any... got em on jimmys and vb.

Came earlier this yr.. went stright on vb and jimmy.. and everywhere is sellin cider lol

Yes, you can bring it, you must declare it. It won't necessarily slow anything up any mroe than anything else you declare - food, wooden stuff etc.

I sent a consignment of stuff over last year which included food and approx 40 cans of decent cider. It cleared just as quick as everything else, and even though I expected a bill for the duty, none was charged.
