Re: Can anyone recommend a good bank
Hi,
i did all the research and found that the Commonwealth Bank seems a pretty good bet. they hav a Migrant Banking Services dept in London. If you give a guy called Richard Hoffman a call on 020 7710 3991 he will send you out a pack with all the details ad application forms etc. (you can e-mail him on [email protected]) hope this helps. Good Luck!!! |

Hi
HSBC have a good internet based a/c which is good if you don't mind using the internet. We managed to open an account with no problems at all when we were visiting Perth in April. www.hsbc.com.au Claire |

You can find list of financial institution authorised to deal with private clients here: www.apra.gov.au (under Authorised Deposit Taking Institutions) and compare all there conditions yourself. All of them have many different products, so it is impossible to say which is the best without knowing you needs.

Re: Can anyone recommend a good bank
Hi,
I think your talking about OZ Bank's ? If that's a yes then I'm in the same boat, just started looking around. I emailed all the national banks asking if I could open an account whilst not in the country and they all said - no. Here's the web sites of the Banks I've been looking at, they seem to offer pretty much the same services, i.e. internet banking, current account ... at about the same cost. We're moving full time to OZ at the end of this year but we are going over in Aug to validate our visas and during that visit I intend to try and organise as much as I can, one thing being checking out the Banks and opening an account. Hope this gives you a starting point. http://www.national.com.au/ http://www.commbank.com.au/default.asp http://www.stgeorge.com.au/ http://www.westpac.com.au http://www.anz.com.au/ Bob Hume "jasmin" <[email protected]> wrote in message news:[email protected] > Hello, > > Moving in January so looking now to open a bank account with not too large charges. > > We would be grateful for any advice > > > > -- > Posted via http://britishexpats.com -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG |

You can open an account with HSBC Australia from the UK.
