I am moving to oz next month as my partner has been transferred, for three years initially. I have also been made an offer of employment to which i am likely to accept. My question is wrt to a company in the uk i receive a dividend from. I spoke to the UK HMRC and they have said i should fill out the uk self assesment as per usual and pay any tax due, the question i have is do i have to also pay aus tax on this income??

Any help would be appreciated.

I have been offered the one year working visa but once i am in Aus i will be going onto my partners visa which is three years.

Aus / UK have reciprocal tax agreements-
If you declare it as overseas sourced income with UK tax paid , you may get a tax credit but should not be double taxed.

(presuming this is not from a Trust and comes from a listed company )

Yes my partner is on the 457 and I will be added once we have proved we have been in a relationship for over six months!

So what I should do is declare these dividends as Overseas earning with tax paid??
