hi all

i have also posted this in the hairdressing forum guys

i am hopefully going to australia this summer

the thing i would like to know (if anyone can help) is

is there a call out there in oz for nails, ear piercing and waxing of body hair ???

you see i have some training courses coming up and i thought the more you know the better job prospects when you get there
they are quite expensive but is it worth doing or am i p***ing in the wind

any advice would be grateful

Probably as some Ozzie girls I have ~ahem~ met were pretty hairy in places! :D

My wife has a nail studio here in Holland, so I have done a fair bit of reasearch on that, and there is a demand for good nail stylist in OZ. There is a fair bit of competition from cheap asian salons, but quality technicians are in demand. peircing and waxing I don't know about.

Hi Jan,
I don't know about the job situation, but there are definitely a lot of body wax places and nail salons around. I would also assume the same with the piercing though I haven't seen anywhere that does it.

Manicures and pedicures are popular here. They are not expensive and are a lovely treat as the heat dries the feet and cracked, dirty heels are uncomfortable and not a good look:cool:

Not sure about waxing or body piercing. I've seen a few hairy women and they don't seem too bothered:eek: Maybe you wont do a roaring trade in waxing? Who knows.......

Body piercing is probably the younger end of the market so likely to be popular in areas where there is a lot of youth.
