Default Can Anyone Help Me I'm In Perth

I have recently moved over to Perth with my boyfriend. We came over on his student visa and I have restrictions from Immigration that I'm only able to work 20 hours per week until Nov 2007. I'm finding it hard to obtain employment as no one really wants casual staff!!!!! Can anyone help me please???? I'm desperate!!!!! ha ha.... I'm living in Mount Lawley.

I'm new to this website so please be kind to me!!!!

Casual work exists all over OZ inc Perth, eg delivering pizza, cleaning, waitressing, telemarketing.

Check wednesday and saturdays 'Western Australian' newspaper, register with a job network agency (centrelink can tell you more about these).

If you're a TAFE or uni student, check their websites, look at boards on campus, ask student guild etc

You have to assess what skills and experience you have for some jobs, others experience isn't an issue. Try knocking on doors or ringing up companies that might use casual staff.

Put up a resume with www.seek.com.au

Check out: http://jobsearch.gov.au

I don't mean to sound rude, but you need to find your bearings and then get off ya bum and do it yourself... same as anywhere in the world.

Good luck

Excuse me,
I know Kerry, and she does not need anybody to tell her to get off her bum.
So did you have to be rude, she is new , she is young, and i know how hard it is to get casual work and be treat like sh...t.
And she has walked the bloody streets, trying to get work, and she is a good worker.
So if you cant be nice , dont bother to offer help.

I used to work for Target and their casual work starts at a minimum of 3 hours a week.

Why not apply for Target, K-Mart etc. Shop work is not so bad

I wasn't being rude. I was be straight up and forthright. I don't know her and I don't know you, but I know how I got work including casual, and I also gave a couple of links (and suggestions) that should be helpful. So don't read more into it than is there.

The supermarkets often look for nightfill staff too but you need a car really as the hours tend to be outside of public transport.

How about getting yourself police clearance and offering a babysitting service, i bet there are a few families on here would take you up on it, especially if you could do daytime as well as evening

Also check out supermarkets for p/t checkout jobs (heaps of girls at uni have jobs at coles or woolies etc)

www.woolworths.com.au

www.coles.com.au

They have application forms at the store and downloadable online.

Yep...I worked on the checkouts and then became merchandise auditor so was away from the tills. I was on a part time 20 hours a week contract at Target.
