............ point me in the direction of a good, trustworthy building inspector/company that will not only check the house, but also check the foundations and tell me if it is feasible to extend upwards.
It would be smashin if they did pest inspections as well

Maybe change your title to say Bayside- Brisbane as I notice you have had over 100 views of your thread and no comments yet.

I looked as I live in Bayside - Melbourne and could have told you of a good inspector but then read your personal Description and realised it was a different Bayside you were after!

We used a building Inspector called David Handy, and he comes out with pestman Steve, from Aim High. Both are excellent (though Steve's spelling leaves a lot to be desired in his final report ha ha!) I have recommended them to plenty of Expats and everyone appears to have been pleased. If you haven't found anyone by the time you read this, send me an email (not a PM - my inbox keeps overflowing!) and I'll give you their official company names and contact numbers. They seem to operate all over Brisbane so Bayside shouldn't be a problem. Please note - WE DO NOT GET A DISCOUNT with these guys, but if you mention John and Netta from Balmoral, then who knows......one day we might!!!!!!
