I miss Golden Wonder cheese and onion crisps! Tried Syd's for them but he dosen't dae them - only hula hoops! Anyone know anywhere that sells them near Brisbane? You just canae buy a decent poke a crisps here!

I also miss mothers pride plain bread.

Irn Bru buy here every week in the shops.

Potatoe scones buy fra Syd's pie shop in Logan. Didn't rate his square sausage - just didnae taste like the square sausage from back home as the meat has a different taste - is better than the sh**ty links in woolies though LOL.

Tablet can make our own - 1 bag of sugar, 1 small tin of condensed milk, half a cup of milk and a dob of butter - the keys in how you cook it - nice and slow and wait till it changes and go's bitty - it will go bubbly first but keep stirring and it will darken in colour then suddenly turn and go tablety - beat it then and pour into dish. The key is not burning it and not taking it off the heat too early - it can take me an hour to cook it, stirring constantly. And for any English folk watching this thread - its NOT FUDGE!!!!!

Final gripe is on 'chip shop chips' - have lost count of how many so called chip shops serve up deep fried frozen chips - where can I buy home made chip shop chips - am sure they are out there but haven't found them yet!

:scared: Sorry think you have mistaken me for someone else - my name isn't Lynne - my names actually Katy. I just don't come on the forum very much and now I know why. I'm not sure how my post can be interpreted as 'having a gripe' isn't this thread about what us Scots miss about home? My choice of wording perhaps wasn't the best - gripe isn't really it I guess - was only joining in and saying what i'd try to bring with you to Oz (if you can make it past customs!!!)

Simple for me Golden wonder crisps, nice sausages are it really - but all in all I wouldn't give up my new life for anything - I love it here and for all the food I miss theres something new to take its place - I was only joining in on the thread.

Yeah ok Lynne,Katy or whatever you choose to call yourself & no im not mistaken
Maybe you should think the next time you decide to slate someone & tell them that maybe they should go home because they innocently had a gripe about Australia.(one of my past posts) Pot & kettle comes to mind

Oh & if you have a problem with my attitude towards you then pm me & i will happily give you my personal email address & we can sort it out from there?

Donna.
