Default Cairns – Is a a good place to live for younger (30 ish) people…

I had a thought that Cairns caters well for back packers & tourists but what is it like for people in their 30’s (am actually 30 years old). Is there plenty to do, etc. You hear of places that are retirement areas but are there many people of this age in Cairns...?

Cairns is not a retirement destination like Hervey Bay or the Gold Coast used to be.
During the winter months there are a lot of grey nomads passing through. Most retirees are looking for a milder climate which is usually as far north as Bundaberg.
