Re: Bye Northerner...
Hi everyone - thanks for the goodbyes!!! Must have missed this thread you kindly started C&R when I was in a rush this morning (yesterday morning?? NOt sure LOL ).
Well we're here, 11.45pm and we're in a hostel in Manly (don't move in to our furnished apartment (also Manly) till Tuesday... Got and interview and 9am and another at 10.30 followed by more Tue and Wed so I'll be keeping busy!!!
Flight was good (as good as a 22 hour flight can be!), goodbyes were tearfull but Nic and I agreed not as bad as we thought and not even as bad as when we went backpacking for a year LOL!
Well, we've got Qantas to thank for a nice $1000 bung to start us off!!! We were going on the Singapore flight and straight through to Sydney but when we went to check in (we were quite early) we were given a leaflet explaining that the flight was overbooked and they were looking for volunteers to change to the Hong Kong route. The flight left at the same time, give or take 5 mins, and landed in Sydney 1.5 hours later that the Singapore one would have but for the pleasure they were offering £200 each!!! Yes please!!! Made the flight a bit more tollerable thinking 'we just made $1000 for doing sod all' LOL
Anyway, got to get some sleep. Thanks for all your good wishes - will update you in a couple of days
