Buying UK shares whilst living in Oz
We have sold our UK house but are now renting in Oz. With the plummeting exchange rate I have not exchanged our money from the house sale and currently have it in Isle Of Man and in my UK bank account (time will tell whether that was a smart move or not! 
) I'm having difficulty finding a broker I can use to buy UK shares making payments from my UK bank account, because I am not currently UK resident. Has anyone found a way through this which doesn't involve changing my GBP into AUD? An offshore / Isle of Man broker etc?

You could try establishing an account with Internaxx - http://www.internaxx.lu/ - suitable if you are an experienced hand at these things and want to maintain an overseas direct share portfolio. I always thought their total fees were a bit high, but I see they have got a little better.
