Buying Laptop in Perth ??

Buying Laptop in Perth ??
We are heading over in November and have decided to purchase a laptop whilst all our stuff & our home computer is being shipped. Question is do we buy one in UK (OH thinks he should buy through his company as its going to work out cheaper??) OR do we buy on arrival in Perth???
Are they that much cheaper in Perth? and from where?
Buying in UK also we means we have to drag it with us on flights and during our stay in Malaysia - travel insurance doesnt cover much either should it go walking..
Anyone have any ideas on this?

PS we are leaving for perth on 22 October, spending a couple of days in KL and then 5 days in Langkawi. When are you heading out?

if you are going through malaysia, why not wait and buy it there? with duty free prices it should be cheaper than either perth or uk. I'm not a computer expert but I would imagine they would sell computers which are oz compatable.
