buying a house and time to completion in australia
All
We're looking to put an offer in for a house in perth over the next week - making up our minds on which house.
Just checking what the procedure etc is, and how quickly you end up completing and actually moving in. Is it like England where its protracted and people say what you want to hear and then do exactly what they want, or is there a specific time agreement made up front that is actually adhered to?
Our lease runs out at the end of July and we want to make sure we are in our home before then.
Cheers

Hi
Have a look at this http://www.movetoperth.com/accommodation/buying.html it will give you a step by step guide to buying.
Also this one http://www.movetoperth.com/info/finance/mortgage.html from here you can download a pdf with the timescales for your mortgage application.
Good luck with your offer.

Can't comment on WA, but here in QLD we paid a deposit on Dec 30th and moved in on 21st Jan
Next purchase was: deposit paid Mar 21, and we took over the property on April 30th.

I have just bought a house in WA - found the house and fell in love, put in a offer with 21 days to find finance then 21 days to settle - managed to get the finance within a week, so the whole process will take four weeks all together and in two weeks time I will have my own house again - I can't wait!!
good luck
