Buying a House in Australia-Brisbane-Redland area
I got my mortgage pre-approved ,but now i am wondering if this is the right time to buy or prices are going to go down.
I am interested in buying in Victoria point, Mt Cotton, Wellington point or Thornlands. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of these areas.
Victoria point has good prices , but i am suprised by the large number of houses on the market. In one street alone ,Lamb close the houses for sale are No; 1, 3 ,5,7,8,9,11, and 15.Does anyone know this street/area.Are these people trying to move away from bad neighbours ?
Pliz help

House prices seem to be dropping....there does not seem any great rush to buy.
Perhaps you should rent for a while to see if you like the area.

Of all of the areas you have mentioned the only difference I can really see is transport.... Mount Cotton, Thornlands & Vicky Point are not on the train line. Mount Cotton is lovely but it's a bit of a trek into Cleveland etc. if you have children and they are involved in activities.... We live in Wellington Point and are happy here. Other areas worth looking at are Cleveland, Ormiston and Birkdale too. To be honest most of these areas blend into one another, however, like most places there will be a spattering of bad amongst the good.
There are lots of properties on the market at the moment and prices have and continue to drop so it's a great time to buy if you have cash in your pocket
