Default Buying a car .. what paperwork?

Can anyone advise me exactly what documents are exchanged when buying a secondhand car?
What do you need to do before you can drive it, third party insurance etc.
Thanks

If buying privately, it would be a good idea to do a REVS check, http://www.consumer.qld.gov.au/OFT/O...5?OpenDocument, or you might find one day your expensive car is repossessed. If buying through a dealer, they usually do it for you.
