Buying a car in Queensland while in temp accomadation
 

Hi All

Just wondering how we go about buying a car while in temporary accomadation when we arrive in Brisbane.
Obviously I don't want to be spending unneccessary money on a hired car when I could well be putting that money towards a car of mine own.
I'm sure I have read you need a fixed address to register it.
Would love to hear from those that have already been through this.

Also when registering for a tax number online when we arrive what address did you give?

We used our holiday let address (1 month) when we bought our car. Just do all the usual change of address stuff afterwards.

We also used our temp address. If it's really THAT temporary get a Po box from Australia post and have all your mail sent there that way you won't miss anything vital when you do move.

Stayed in van park when we came over and that address was enough as ppl live their all year round. Just change it when you get somewhere. Waited till had address before doing tax number but it came very quickly.
