hi all! when buying a car in WA what do u need to have, i.e. does it have an mot tax and stuff like that is it the same as uk i dont know? thanks :)

MOT ? Whats that then. If the car can move then you can drive it here basically.

There is car registration "rego" which is annual and this incorporates a third party liability insurance premium. You get a sticker to chuck in the car similar to a tax disk but a bit better looking and not made of paper :)

If you are buying a new car then there are some deals about which will include on the road costs, such as rego, delivery, stamp duty etc.

I've just paid $600 odd for the rego of my new Ford Falcon XR6. But then again my insurance premium for fully comp insurance is only $450 for the year for any driver over 25. Dream on getting those sort of premiums in the UK :)

Maybe slightly different in WA and I'm in QLD.
