Default Buying a car

Hi,

As said before we are planning on heading to Australia and travelling for about 3 months until (hopefully) our visas are granted.

We have heard that when buying a car you need a permanent address which of course we will not have. Can anyone confirm if this is the case and also if getting insurance is likely to be a problem for something like a landcruiser (we are both in our 30's)?

Thx....
