Thumbs up Buying bare rural land in NZ

Dear Expatland....
I have been looking into buying rough pasture land in NZ in the stix and building on it....has anyone any idea how much I would pay for an acre and any other relevant advice

Also, try www.realenz.com. it is quite reasonable to build your own home there often cheaper than buying a house, the majority of people do it, so it should not be too daunting. Any of the real estate agents will be able to help.

can range typically between 1-10,000 even within south island, primarily depends how it is from town/city, whether it has services (power/water) to its boundary, flat or hilly, bare or not etc
best value for $ in sth island might be west coast with bit of native bush/forest on it if you don't mind sandflies/midgeys.
