I might be interested. I am a big believer in diversity. Reader's wives (BE wives) is not popular for nothing.

My wife breast fed 3 kids, exclusively - not a bottle in sight - and we discovered that they righted themselves after a bit of a layoff.

Do you look like Chris Hemsworth? I'd get the girls out for him in a heartbeat.

Think there might be a few forms to fill in as well......officially registering your interest in Flopsy and Mopsy, for instance

Thank you
I met a 53 year old guy today who told me he had paid 40k for PR.
He's spends 6 months here and 6 months in India.
He has a son here, don't know if that helped with his PR status or not.
40k sounds like a steal to me.

There was a visa a few years back for which one of the conditions was investing a certain amount in Australia. There were various State accounts for depositing the money,as a kind of reclaimable bond, if I remember rightly.
The money was supposed to be a personal investment but there were a few scams going on where companies were lending the money at inflated rates (can't remember all the details now though). Anyway, the scheme came to an abrupt end, almost overnight, about 6-7 years ago. A lot of people on here had sold their homes to raise the moeny and were left inl limbo, no home, ne visa. Very sad - a lot of people's dreams ruined because of some people trying to get round the system.

The Contributory Parent visa also requires about $40k to be invested, but you have to meet other conditions too.

Polly I think you are thinking of this. The investment got you 5 extra points at a time when the pass mark was more difficult to reach. But you still had to come up with the rest of the points for a skilled independent visa, so it's unlikely to be the visa that ukecadet's contact has.

Sounds much more like a parent visa to me.

Thats the one Yes, people still had to meet the points test. Do you remember the horror stories when people had the rug pulled from under them at the last minute? Some had even sent their money via a transfer service and got it returned as the visa was cut off just like that, overnight.

Parent visa is more likely here - but still other requirements to meet, just the money won't get you entry.
