FILIPINO fugitive Dante Tan donated "substantially more" than $10,000 to the Liberal Party before he had his business skills visa reinstated, Labor today claimed.
Mr Tan, an Australian citizen, is wanted in the Philippines over the largest insider trading case in the country's history, which contributed to the resignation of President Joseph Estrada.
Labor has repeatedly challenged Mr Ruddock to explain why Mr Tan had his visa reinstated a month after he donated $10,000 to Mr Ruddock's electoral campaign.
Opposition citizenship spokesman Laurie Ferguson said he had received information over the weekend that Mr Tan gave more to the Liberal Party than the $10,000 declared to the Australian Electoral Commission.
"The Liberal Party milked this Tan for far more than the $10,000 they've publicly revealed," he said.
