Default business owner visa

Been here (Sunshine Coast) with hubby & kids since Jan 2004. We came out on a business skills visa (business owner subclass 127) and are obliged to get involved in a business of our own. The businesses we've looked at to buy appear to be widly overpriced, most don't have certified accounts and hardly any have had the current owners for more than a year or so. I am getting really worried that nothing will turn up and we'll have to pack up and drag the kids back to england. Has anyone got this type of visa, or had it and have done their first 3 years? If so how are you/have you found things?

Have you thought of starting up a business rather than buying one?

One way or another, your visa is at risk if you don't do anything soon. DIMIA are regularly cancelling visas of your type - you should get some professional migration advice immediately to understand your obligations.

Have you approached some of the larger firms of accountants and solicitors in Brisbane to see whether they have any clients who might be looking for investment or looking to sell?

If you want a place to start please feel able to send me an email ... alan - at - gomatilda - dot - com

Best regards.
