Checked baggage allowance is 30kg for business & 40kg for First.
If you have your Thai booking reference check the booking on the Thai website and see what it says...it may list the allowance as 40kg for all sectors...maybe not.

Hello Avianca LifeMiles!
There's a new program in town!
So we all know that US Airways Dividend Miles offers great deals but with some drawbacks:
Here are some examples of miles required and the total (not including taxes) for the part cash option assuming a promo is running:
Sign up now...don't wait for a promo to start as you likely won't be able to take part.

So we all know that US Airways Dividend Miles offers great deals but with some drawbacks:
- We can't make one way bookings without spending roundtrip miles
- We can't really check availability on-line, well not with US anyway
- We can't book online - while some agents are great, other times it's your job to play geography teacher!
- It allows oneway bookings at half the cost of roundtrips
- It has online availability checking & booking
- It allows bookings to be made with a mixture of cash and miles and this option is cheaper than miles alone
- Because of the above you could always buy enough miles for a roundtrip to the UK in one purchase (no buying some miles and waiting for another promo later)
- It has in the past year run 3 100% bonus buy miles promos! (there isn't one running at the moment)
- Like US it doesn't charge fuel surcharges on award tickets, only REAL taxes
- There doesn't appear to be a sales tax levied on miles purchases
- There doesn't seem to be the concept of stopovers so if you want one you have to price out all sectors individually e.g. LHR-BKK then BKK-MEL...this adds to the costs a bit
- Can't find an award chart anywhere - you need to play with the booking engine to get numbers
Here are some examples of miles required and the total (not including taxes) for the part cash option assuming a promo is running:
- MEL-LHR oneway in business: 85000 miles OR 34000 miles + USD650 Total = USD1160
- MEL-BKK oneway in business: 45000 miles OR 18000 miles + USD345 Total = USD615
- MEL-JFK oneway in business: 67500 miles OR 27500 miles + USD513 Total = USD925
- SYD-LHR oneway in first: 100000 miles OR 40000 miles + USD766 Total = USD1366
- MEL-BKK oneway in business: 45000 miles OR 18000 miles + USD345 Total = USD615
- BKK-LHR oneway in business: 62500 miles OR 25500 miles + USD475 Total = USD850

Quick FYI...and probably a bit late. But Singapore Airlines has many, many redemptions currently available in business and first class at the moment - this DOES NOT include Suites on the A380. Probably related to upgrades to their reservations systems over the weekend.
Flyertalk has been going crazy over the weekend with people snapping up seats that aren't normally available.
You could probably follow how long this is going to last at the end of this thread:

Hmm. Debating whether to pay the change fee to try and get involved with that! Would prefer LHR-SIN-MEL too, currently got LHR-IST-SIN-MEL and it's a couple of days later than I would have preferred. Decisions, decisions. Just worried they won't honour the bookings and then I'll be stuffed.
