Default BUPA hospital in Sydney for wisdom teeth

Hi all,

I'm with BUPA top hospital with all dental extras and need to have all 4 wisdom teeth removed.
I am not having them removed in the chair and need to go into hospital under GA.

I'm located in Sydney and trying to find a Members First hospital and anaesthetist to keep the Gap to a minimum. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

Give BUPA a call, they'll be able to help.

Thats the first thing I've done.
They are useless here unlike BUPA in the UK. Here they simply ask which hospital I'd like to go to so I asked them where I could go and they simply give you the options you can see online.
They don't have more info like whether there is an oral surgeon at each of the hospitals.

I've started calling around but getting such a mix of responses from the hospital on their site and quotes vary hugely in price and service.

That's no good. My private health fund are brilliant with advising about hospitals and specialists that won't leave me with a gap to pay. Best of luck.

We're just coming up to 1 year so time for renewal - who are you with?

HBF, but I think they're only in Western Australia.

Actually, at the moment I'm living in the UK so am with the NHS But my Brit husband couldn't settle here, so we're moving back to Australia. HBF let me suspend my private health account, so I can just take up private insurance again when I get back and not have any increased premiums. I don't usually praise insurance companies, but these have been fantastic.

Can your dentist not advise? Presumably it's a Members First clinic, they must have a list of hospital they send their patients to.

No, my dentist isn't a Member's First clinic. I'll try to call my nearest one to see what they suggest
