Another point of (possible) interest is that we don't go on the visual appearance of the snake to help try and identify it. The experts we can phone usually know what the likely snake is from the location and description of the incident. I'm told they're rarely wrong

Then I'll change my guess to a western brown. Or an eastern brown that stowed away on a road train

It's a belt that's been chucked out of a car.

I think I'd give a crap if I stumbled across it, and I mean that literally!

If I saw a snake I wouldn't care what it was. I don't know the statistics but in my mind all snakes are venomous and I would run a proverbial.

Many of us care what it is and are also saddened to see it needlessly killed on the road.

Sadly with the ever increasing urbanisation of our cities native wildlife will unfortunately perish.

except the King Brown is completely and utterly unrelated to the Eastern. They are not even part of the same sub species. The King Brown is part of the Black snake family, hence why it is now going by its other name now, the Mulga, to avoid confusion.

That photo appears to show a slender type snake with a pronounced head on it. The Mulga does not have much of a neck on it and the head is almost a continuation of the body. It could well be the Mulga, but that is the slimmest Mulga I've ever seen

Doesnt matter really what kind of snake it was.

It used to be a magnificent and intriguing creature. Now its just a mess on the road
