Another point of (possible) interest is that we don't go on the visual appearance of the snake to help try and identify it. The experts we can phone usually know what the likely snake is from the location and description of the incident. I'm told they're rarely wrong

Many of us care what it is and are also saddened to see it needlessly killed on the road.

That photo appears to show a slender type snake with a pronounced head on it. The Mulga does not have much of a neck on it and the head is almost a continuation of the body. It could well be the Mulga, but that is the slimmest Mulga I've ever seen

Doesnt matter really what kind of snake it was.
