Default Broadband Varsity Lakes

Hi

Just moved to Varsity Lakes in the Gold Coast.

I think we have cable? There is a port in the living room with a normal UK coax antenna port and two connectors like the back of a UK Sky box. One says 'Pay TV' and the other says 'RF Input'.

Also just had Telstra connect the phone line.

My question is what is the best option for broadband?
ADSL or Cable.

Also has to be a short contract as we are only in rental for 6 months.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cable TV socket - Foxtel/Austar
RF Input - don't know why the'd have one in the wall? Sure it shouldn't read Output?
If you are only going to be ther a short time, have you considered either pre-paid b/band or mobile usb device? Most plans (adsl, cable, mobile etc) have a minimum signup period of 12 or 24 months.
I use a mobile usb device, but the choice is yours.

I had a quick look and Optus seems to have 'Not Fixed' Contracts. Is this what you mean by pre-paid b/band?

I don't know what he 3G coverage is like in Varsity Lakes but if it is like the UK it can either be tolerable or basically useless!

Thanks for the prompt reply.
