Broadband Prices

Re: Broadband Prices
I'd be interested, which would be far more relevant to me, is what speeds people are actually getting, rather than just looking at download limits. It;s easy enough to heck, but for those people that have posted what is their true speed of download, rather than the supposed advertised speed? Anyone willing to share?
22ms ping
17,836 kbs down
7,846 up
I'm very close to the exchange though.

Re: Broadband Prices
ADSL is depend on how much telstra equipment you are unlucky to have to go through and available ports and configs on each of those.

How long is a piece of string ? It all depends on how often you play and what your other usage is.
Most online games tend to be very tight when it comes to handling bandwidth. These guys usually pride themselves with their Net code and often refine the same UDP update engines over a number of titles.
In-game Voice chat is usually of a very low quality and thus not that "expensive", but you can certainly add that to the amount of bandwidth used.
I guess the biggest problem you will have is downloading demos, videos and other junk from Live.
