Thinking about making sure we have access to Broadband in oz...

What's the coverage like in Adelaide and surrounding towns?

Will the external modem that was supplied work over there?

Will we need the filters that are fitted to the other phone lines?

Will our phones work in Oz?

Any advice please

As far as I know, all the major cities have access, and suburbs outside are slowly getting connected - had we lived in Perth we would have sorted that out ages ago, but it's only in the last few weeks that it's become available here in Mandurah (70km away). You can find out if your area is covered using the Telstra site, you have to fill in a few pages, including your phone number, and it will tell you whether it's available in your area or not, so obviously it's something to do as soon as you've arrived. Hubby did all the research and we've signed up with iinet - we have three computers in our home which are networked so we had more specific requirements regarding connection, and found iinet offered the right package at a reasonable price.

Our modems work ok here, but we were advised (on another thread) not to bring the phones as they won't work.
