Can anyone give me some information on availability & cost of Broadband in melbourne? We have got very used to having it here and can't imagine living without!

www.swiftdsl.com.au is who I use and recommend.

Avoid Telstra aka hellstra. Expensive, bad service and loss of e-mail are all part of the Telstra experience.

Thanks - I had a quick look at those sites - am I right in thinking they are through a modem though. What about cable broadband? Does this exist? Sorry if this is a dumb question...

These are ADSL broadband and you can either aquire a modem through your ISP or buy your own. If you are in a Foxtel or Optus enable area then you can get cable modems.

try www.foxtel.com.au or www.optus.com.au for details.
