Britishness Test on BBC Web Site

I got 10 out of 14

This is my favourite question:

Life in the UK explains what to do if you spill someone's pint in the pub (we're not making this up). What, according to the book, usually happens next?

A: You would offer to buy the person another pint
B: You would offer to dry their wet shirt with your own
C: You may need to prepare for a fight in the car park

I only got 7 out of ten (bad guessing!). However, I did succeed with the most important ones - buying another pint if spilling one (though not relevant for all pubs  ) and knowing I don't have to go to the Police Station unless I'm arrested. Practical girl me :)

This isn't about immigration, it's about applying for citizenship - i.e. you already satisfy the requirements to become a British subject and this is a hurdle to getting a passport. You're confusing it with the Australian migration process.

British citizen - not British subject. (British subject status is something else altogether, now held only by a few residual groups of people. The primary status of British people connected with the United Kingdom has been that of citizen since 1948 (first as 'Citizens of the UK and Colonies' and then, since 1983, as 'British Citizens').

I know, I know, I'm being fussy, but there you go...
