Probably not, it will receive the pic (me thinks) but no sound.

You may be able to get it converted for a fee but it depends on the age of it as to whether its better to buy a new one.

Yes and no (helpful eh?). Suggest you search past threads for this as it's a common question. On the whole unless it's a fancy expensive one I don't think it's worth it. You can get a half-decent flat-screen for $300 i.e. roughly £120. Having said that we're bringing an old one over just the same!

I am thinking about sending over my TV from the UK to Australia however apart from changing the plug ! will a british TV work/receive programmes in Australia.

No, you will still get Eatenders, Coronation Street & Emerdale on it.
Is Emerdale still going in UK ??
