After he had sold his phones people kept comming back and complaining they were picking up police frequencies etc! Still makes me laugh. Phones have to be approved in NZ like in the UK. I cant help you too much as when I left the UK, most people had dial phones and not push buttons! Needless to say if it doesnt work or fit in the socket there are plenty of places you can go and find a phone quite cheap. If your shipping it in a container with a whole heap of other things then chuck it in, otherwise if you limited in your luggage. Leave it, give it away, whatever. Good luck Ashley Watson |
Re: British phones
Tim Sorrell's page explains all about it, check it out:
http://members.dingoblue.net.au/~timsorrell/emigrate There's a new better url, but this one is still working too and I'm too lazy to find the new one, hee hee. I hope it helps. Re: British phones
Yes they work. NZ uses what it call the 'BT' socket.
Australia uses a rather cumbersome socket but you can get an adapter for UK phones. |
Re: British phones
Apparently they can.
See Tim Sorrell's very informative web page at http://emigrate.hotshopping.com.au/ AndyH yvsie <[email protected]> wrote in message news:<[email protected]>... > Yep I'd like to know if they work in OZ too....so Ive replied to this thread to get > it back to the top!! |
Re: British phones
Yes they do. Same socket. Faxes also work. I had a BT60 which worked just fine.

Re: British phones
Unless regulations have changed very recently then don't try to take a British cordless (DECT or analogue) phone with you because they will be taken off you by customs.
Different countries use different frequency bands for various wireless communications. The phones will work but will be illegal and may interfere with other systems. You can take your GSM handsets though. Nick |
