Default British PAs and Secretaries in Australia - Please Read!

Hello - I'm writing a feature for the Guardian's supplement aimed at secretarial workers, Office Hours, about PAs and office workers who recently moved abroad from the UK in search of better pay and conditions. If that sounds like you and you wouldn't mind talking to me for ten minutes about your experiences, I'd be massively grateful if you'd drop me a line - I'd love to find out why you moved and how things have worked out. Send me an email - my address is archiebland (at) gmail.com. Thank you!

Obviously being a bit mad here bothering to respond to this! Please check out the emigration rules for Aus, as yet they have not realised the Ultra high standards of being a PA/Office worker, as individuals on a 136 visa, they are not on the recognised list. Make that part of your article. So the only way an indivdual can work as a PA or office staff is as temp 3 mths on a working visa.

Well said Sandra, I find it very frustrating that my skills count for absolutely nothing as far as DIMIA is concerned, although I have loads of certificates and have been running my own secretarial business for two years....
