Frankly, I don't think the words "BA" and "customer service" go together .

I am really sorry for you guys, Furkew and Gems. Luckily for us, we live near Heathrow and therefore can choose who we fly with (Singapore).

I *never* fly BA if I have a choice!

I only have to put up with them for 45 minutes The rest is Qantas

For europe hopping BA is ok.

Take off
take round the drinks 10 mins later
take round the sandwiches 5 mins later
clear up the glasses and packaging 10 mins later
trays up 10 mins later
land 5 mins later

cant really go wrong.

My parents are flying out to visit this weekend and are flying world traveller plus which is between economy and business classes on BA so they get to bring 2 suitcases each. BA no lnoger fly their planes to Melb so they are having to fly via Sydney to make use of this. I have no idea how much more expensive it is than economy class though but might be worth checking out

Hello, I dont get the 40kg as not permanent its 457 visa.

But need the 2 suitcase per person. As thats what I get on Singapore airlines.
There is 6 of us flying so hence need for extra bags can manage the 23kg weight.

I found this online. Does this mean that I can take the two bags? As it was booked as a package? All flights bought together.

When checking in for a journey that involves BA and another carrier, the baggage policy of the first international carrier will apply. If BA is the first carrier, and the subsequent carrier's allowance is more generous, then the most generous allowance will apply. Baggage

Does anyone know what the max weight in each suitcase is these days. We are a family of 4 wanting to utilise as much of the 40kg alllowance as possible but do not want to take more than 1 case each and 1 hand luggase each as we have 6 year old and 2 year old I think anyomre would be hard work !!!

NO MORE THAN 32kg per item, I'm 99.9% sure on that.

Right - and wrong!

The new maximum is 23Kg per bag due to the dreaded health and safety. However, the old 32 Kg - due to the dreaded etc etc - will as a concession be accepted until September.

32 kg is a pretty heavy case - many handles won't put up with more than a few trips regardless of H & S!

I would confirm with the airline and get it in writing, anyway.
