How bizarre

For all who are interested, the cartridges are indeed universal. We left in the bin in the UK. Now have the swanky fridge dispensing water, crushed ice and whole ice chunks - who needs a Brita

Oh and if anyone is interested in Fluoride - Here - Gold coast, we don't have it in the water although the dentists would like it to be. I think it's kept out because the cows will start laying eggs or something. Anyway, when we go to the dentist he paints the stuff on the teeth before we leave.

Still haven't fully made up your mind ? I understand somethings need planning and given due consideration, but hell, it's only a Brita

There's no harm in planning everything.........means you don't get anything done but you look busy..........you can tell I am in work

As for the brita, it was an idea my OH had when we were in Scotland but hasn't followed through with it.

What about the waffles though?

OK here you go. First off we have a product to help make your own :
http://www.sunbeam.com.au/products/p...=467&sec_id=28

Secondly we have lovely pics of some Belgian Waffles in Australia :
http://www.lovelybelgianwaffles.com.au/

And finally, we have some sad people discussing the merits of waffles against crumpets. Please be aware that the poster going by the name of Moneypenny is in no way, shape or form any relation to this wonderfully entertaining and helpful poster on this forum who goes by the name of Moneypen20.

Wouldn't mind, but I don't even like waffles. I can waffle though - have you noticed

Thanks for the detail and what a great effort. Much appreciated.

I should however have mentioned it was the waffle of the potato variety. The savorary kind rather than the sweet ones.

Birdseye do a potato waffle but after a few emails to them they don't plan to launch them here in Aus. We used to use them when we were on diets.

I am finding my water is fine without a filter though.

Ahh, apologies, PaulRachel sent my brain off at a tangent - talking about maple syrup. Next time you have visitors from the UK ask them to bring some over - not sure how they will keep them frozen though

Pleased you're happy with the water. Will sleep easier now.

(Pedantically) Do you really mean that it took just a few emails to them to stop them selling waffles? <g>
