Brissy shopping - help needed

We live in a tiny place 100kms from Rockhampton. The only
time we've been to Brissy is to change planes at the airport.

We plan to make a 1200km round trip to come shopping at
the beginning of Dec. specifically for xmas stuff etc...
We have Ikea on our list of places to visit and I'd appreciate
any suggestions for any other stores worth a look.

Also, any suggestions for a resonable hotel (with parking) in
the area.

Thanks

Bob

Hi

Try The Dockside apartment hotel at Kangaroo Point, for $160 a night we had a two bed apartment with a laundry room and private parking, it costs less the longer you book for. The views of Brisbane are excellent from there too (we were on the 14th floor).

For somewhere cheap, $50-60 per night, but OK, try

If you're going to Ikea, you could continue one stop further down the Highway to the Logan Hyperdome. Refurbishment is due to be finished next month I believe and there a lot of shops here under one roof. Otherwise Queens Street Mall is the obvious place to go in Brisbane. Southbank markets are worth a look around also if you want something a bit 'different'.
