Our outside thermometer (in the shade) registered 43.4C yesterday! Pool water temp was above 34C - like taking a warm bath!

This heatwave is very unusual in that the temperature right across the city is almost the same - 41-42C. Usually the western suburbs and Ipswich are between 3 and 7 degrees hotter during the day and 2-3 degrees cooler at night. The Gold coast rarely gets high 30s let alone 40s.

It's cooled down today, 27C inside, and pretty wet outside. It's been raining since early in the morning. Tuesday 8.30am now.

They reckon a maximum outside of 27 today.

It didn't reach the 40's where I am in Victoria Point. Although it was still hot.

Sorry Brisbane, for bringing the rain with us its lovely rain as rain goes though, oops rose tinted specs are a bit splashed
