City centre about half to one hour to a GREAT beach andf funfairs theme parks etc.
Friendlier people and cheaper housing than sydney and warm alot of the year.
What do you want to know, you were a bit vague.

Okay, other useful sites are:
Brisbane City Council
Brisbane City Life
Wikipedia
Lonely Planet
IMHO, Brisbane is great. It has grown up at lot in the last 10 years from a provincial sleepy city into something more vibrant and fun. Lots to do for kids and families but plenty also for the singles and lucky couples with no kids (i'm a sleep deprived parent, can you tell? ) it is growing rapidly and as a result there is pressue on infrastucture like roads and public transport, but certainly no worse than where I was living in the UK.
If you have specific questions it might be more helpful, otherwise do a forum search for Brisbane and you'll get loads of threads which discuss various aspects of Brisbane.
Cheers

Not brown water (yet!) but a very brown landscape. Brisbane is under level 5 water restrictions due to continuing drought.
I don't have teenage children but there are a few on this site who do - they may be able to give you some help. There is also a youth forum on this site - maybe they should get online there and ask the opinions of others in the same situation?
