Question Brisbane Suburbs

Can anyone recommend a suburb in Brisbane....
I'm 30, my partner is 32, no kids, 1 dog. I am an Accountant/Auditor so I could so with being no more than 20 mins from the city. Husband is an Engineer.
We like eating out, cycling, dog walking, sports.
Any thoughts guys ????

Hi Louise, we can't give first hand advice as still in sunny scotland , but have been thinking about the various suburbs ourselfs and looking at propertys online and asking some questions regarding what we'd like a suburb to offer. During our visit to Brisbane last sept we travelled a lot on the rail service and found this to be very good up to zone 3 was approx 25 mins from the CBD, burbs like corinda, sherwood, graceville were among our favourites and had good access to eating out and local amenities. (Ace houses too.)
We have found www.ourbrisbane.com to be a good resource and have had a few neighbourhood guides sent over (free) from oz, they have decent maps and a bit on the area, the site also gives statistics on all burbs population ages, average income, make up of the community etc.
Hope this helps, when are you planning to go?

It does help, cheers!
We plan to go June next year. Original plan was to settle in Melbourne but we went June this year and it just didn't feel right.... so Brisbane might be the way to go. We briefly went there in 2002 to visit friends and liked it.

Check out Woolongabba too or Kangaroo point,we are in our 30's no kids and 1 dog and we were looking to this general area of Brisbane .
We are now going to rent in the Gold Coast for 6 months and then move up towards Brisbane for a bit to see where we would prefer to buy.

The West End and Fortitude Valley appear to be good places to socialise/eat out too and would be handy.

If travel time is your major requirement, at the speed of peak-hour traffic, it would then be better for you to live in an apartment in the CBD area. The dog may be a problem then.

Hi there

We plan to emigrate next year. We have been looking at the Redcliffe Peninsula and Pine Rivers area. They are about half an hour away from north Brisbane. Redcliffe is a seaside town with several small beaches and parks and Pine Rivers/ Deception Bay area seems to be an up and coming area near the coast with very reasonably priced new builds. We have young kids though so these areas may not be what you are looking for. Anyone out there- I'd welcome advice about what these places are like to live in, or any other Brisbane suburb near the beach that would be good for young families. Thanks.

Lovely,

I currently live just south of that area. I have a young family and it is a great place to raise a family. There is lots going on in Pine Rivers Shire, new developments and amenities, I love new amenities! Close to everything.

Just a word of warning regarding time to Brisbane from Redcliffe/North Brisbane.

During peak traffic (which is a nightmare) it would take a good hour into the CBD
