Brisbane schools, ranked the highest ?
Hi,
A bit of a shot in the dark this one !
We're looking to move to Brisbane in the Springtime of 07, got our case officer now. Getting into the spirit of things looking at property in Brisbane but it's really going to be dictated by the schools we choose for our children (or rather that they choose, I suppose).
Trying to do as much homework to take theweight off when we arrive, does anyone have a 'list of best ranked schools in brisbane'..... type document ?
If any such thing exists ?
Appreciate any help or guidance, thank you.
Nia and Amy's Dad.

Re: Brisbane schools, ranked the highest ?
have a look on queensland education sites etc. there are lists available but not quite as in depth as the UK
we have heard that Brisbane Grammar is one of the best, it is also one of the most expensive!!!!
ormiston college has a wonderful reputation ( if you are planning on moving to the east side)
stretton for the south
hope that helps

A few really good girls' independent schools I've heard of are:
Brisbane Girls Grammar
Moreton Bay College
Somerville House
And co-ed:
Ormiston College
As we live on the bayside, I've only ever researched schools near by and a few near the city. I don't think school ranking is that important as long as the school is good. I certainly wouldn't base where I live on where the "best" schools are. One thing I've noticed over the years though is that many of the really good schools (both private and public) are usually found in good neighbourhood. So perhaps your logic isn't all that flawed.
Cheers,

There was a website that I once looked at which had camparison of schools in most states but Queensland wasn't included. The education system here doesn't seem to put as much emphasis on ranking as the UK or the US.

The thoughts on a list were that it may give an indication of the better schools, not suggesting that my kids needed to attend the best !
Believe me, at 6 and 4 they already have a very strong opinion on where they want to go and what they want to do !!!!
