Default Brisbane schools - please help!

Hi folks,

Just wondering if anyone knew of any schools in Brisbane that were sympathetic towards having 'High Functioning Autistic children integrated into mainstream classrooms?

Really could do with some info....

Cheers

Gday

friend of ours Fee, in Helensvale has a 6yr old and a 3yr old.

The elder boy has ADS witha twist , a couple of specialists believe ADS and cpl others think Autism.

She has fought tooth and nail for him to stay in mainstream classes. Please note I can give you her private email should you wish to correspond with her. Just send me a PM.

Hi,

I friend of mine has sent her son, who has ADD, to the Holy Family school in Indooroopilly. The local state school couldn't cope with him.

You could contact the school through http://www.holyfamilyps.qld.edu.au/

You don't need to be Catholic to go there.

Steve,

Thanks for the info. If your friend doesn't mind me emailing her then I would really appreciate their address. We're selling the house in Spring next year and moving once it's sold (already got PR). Asha's in her pre school year so really want to get an idea of Oz schools now rather than later.

Cheers again

Thanks Jane. Will check out the website. I'm catholic but never got around to getting the kids done! Might be worth it though.

Cheers

Hi Mrs Dagboy,

I don't come on here much anymore cos I got fed up with being ignored, me being a sensitive soul and all . (Thank you, Stitch, for acknowledging my reply )

We moved into our new house four weeks ago so we're finally putting down roots.

Jim posted some pictures on the web. Have a look at http://photobucket.com/albums/b215/jimharrison/

Take care,
Jane

Hi Jane, great to hear you are settling in, the house looks great, looks like you went with the builders that you were looking at last time we spoke (I recognise those beautiful bay windows & verandahs ). We've moved since I spoke to you last as well, bought a gorgeous old Qlder on acreage & are doing it up (too slowly for my liking, but its hard to get good help these days! ).

Nice to see you post again, have fun in your new house & pool for xmas .
