Default Brisbane Primary Schools

We're heading to Brisbane in November with our two daughters and we were hoping someone might have some advice on Brisbane schools.

In particular we're looking for a good private - non-catholic - girls/mixed - primary school within c. 10km of the CBD.

We're happy to find the right school and then base our selves fairly close to it rather than choose a suburb and then find the school.

I've seen quite a view similar threads but none dealing with such a specific request! ;-)

Many thanks for any help you can give

We were also wondering whether any of the primary schools are air-conditioned in Brisbane? I'm worried that my freckly pale English daughters will melt when the thermometer hits the high 30s! ;-)

Not many of the schools seem to be air conditioned up here, at least not in the Bayside area, that I now of. But if the windows are set in the right position, and with the fans on, it may not get too hot. My own daughter hasn't complained about the heat.

I can't help with specific advice on schools within 10k of the city.

why a private school???
funny how some people think aussie state schools so bad.
i think they are much better than uk,they seem to believe that children learn best through ways other than standing lecturing and doing loads of homework, with multiple tests throughout the term!!!we came here to escape that type of education, the private schools here offer that though if you want that for your children. It can be quite snobby here with schooling,so watch out.here bayside the private schools are always spouting on about their acheivements, but they need to use the press to keep up their intake.when you compare actual leaving results and uni entry, most public state schools acheive better results just goes to show money can't buy you a brain
my 3 boys go to the local school and have developed in ways that would be beyond them in the uk.they are so aware of the enviroment and wildlife now.
don't worry so much about the schools they have dr's lawyers and such like here just like the uk,and they went to state schools.
good luck with the move
