Default Brisbane is missing

Hard to belive i know, but after being here 3 years we are missing the white powder. The snow that is, if only the skiers amongst us could chip in together and have a dry ski slope built at Mount Cootha, Brisbane would be more than perfect.
Has anyone found a decent, well priced ski resort with good Apres ski in NZ or NSW/VIC, or a bit further a field, sugestions appreciated.
What else are you guys missing from Brisbane?

Cheers Dale & Francine

This is my one concern, ski every year at the moment in Europe. Oh has promised it will be NZ one year, europe the next - esp as I have just bought a new pair of boots at £250 !
Will be interested to see any NZ recommendations.

There were a few outside Christchurch that seemed good. About an hours drive outside of Christchurch. Porters and Mount Hutt i think.

NZ skiing is amongst the best available.... Have a mad Kiwi friend who is married to a Brit... He's a snowboard addict, at one point he used to design boards I believe! They've chosen to make their home in NZ south island

Vicki gets to sell houses for Harcourts!!!

Fantastic skiing to be had Whakapapa central North Island. The best snowfall for years. Deep, soft powdery snow.

Buy a set of grass-skis, then you can have the best of both worlds.
