Hi John,
Sorry taking so long to reply, been so busy with packing and saying all our goodbyes! Leaving a week on Sunday, and arrive in Brisbane on the 1st of May. We are heading to relatives in Nudgee, then we will look for a rental, not sure whereabouts though!
Still cant believe we are actually leaving the UK after talking about it for so long.
Looking forward to meeting up with everyone.

Hi all
We have been here 11 weeks now and live just 4k north of the cbd but would love a meet up got a car so south side is ok, got 2 teenage boys 15 and 13 we went to one meet up in the north and it was great but they dont happen often enough we could do with setting something up regularly. As my wife works as a hairdresser in Milton she works long hours including a saturday when most people want to meet up so a sunday is miles better. I have heard of some going home as they get lonely, thats why you need the meets especially if you dont have family or friends over here already, if anyone fancies a get together or earlier meet give us a pm dont mind meeting up even for a few drinks.

20th May sounds good to us. We live in Spiringfield Lakes so South Bank is perfect. Just the two of us, so anytime is Ok.

The Plough is on the south bank nr the beach/pool, and its right next to the market on a weekend, its always packed out! (thats if its the same place im thinking off!) What time are we going anyone? Our best bet from parkinson is to get the bus return to the southbank so we can have ice cool beers!! Pete

Re: Brisbane Meet Up?
Hi,
Anyone interested in a Brisbane meet up?
We have been here for 7 months and happily, settling in nicely ... however our 16 year old daughter is still struggling a little so it would be great if there is anyone with teenagers around the same age who would come along to the meet up ... this obviously does not exclude anyone without kids!
We live just south of the river but happy to meet up anywhere in Brisbane.
Cheers,
John

Re: Brisbane Meet Up?
Hi All,
Yes Pete you are right, I went past the Plough on Sunday afternoon and it was packed out ... we would not be be able to get seats all together and if we are spread around the place it's not the ideal for a meet up!
Other ideas: one of the BBQ areas in Southbank that have been built in in the 'new' area that hasn't long been opened (but we would need to be there early to secure the plot) or totally different New Farm Park where there is lots of room to meet. Both would mean packing the eskies and taking a picnic.
It looks like the 20th is OK for most people ... just need the venue.
Thoughts anyone?
Cheers,
John

Re: Brisbane Meet Up?
Hi folks...
We too would also like to come along.... Mr & Mrs Tox with young lad aged 4...
I agree, it would be good to have say some sort of picnic (along with a few bevs) within the SB parklands... I'm quite sure it wouldn't be much of a problem if we all rocked up early enough... plenty of free BBQ's too within the area.
Count us in...
