Must be my phone because it's been showing the Gold Coast as devoid of sunshine in recent times.

Then again the forecast seems brilliant for Sydney and semi-miserable again for Gold Coast from Monday onwards (hardly a cloud in the sky for Sydney and just rain/storms for GC).

We've had both today so it may have been partly right. Last few days we've had very bright mornings and early afternoons moving on to cloud and then storms at night. Even cloudy it's not what I'd call miserable.

You're right, cloudy is still fine. But for some reason I always thought that heading north would bring about more sunny hours than staying in Sydney.

Either way, relocating to GC next week which is why I've started monitoring the weather there.

Isn't it just a case that for any day where the forecast is 'possible showers' the summary icon will show rain? And given that it's storm season in SE Qld...showers/storms are certainly possible almost any day...but most likely in the late afternoon.

If I look at a Singapore summary forecast almost any time of the year it will show rain every day...but it doesn't tell you for how long and how much unless you drill into the detail.

In winter yes, in summer no. Melbourne will have higher sunshine hours than either at this time of year.

Correct, Singapore forcast is always stormy and yet it can be sunny on most days with no rain all week.

I guess the Winter/Summer sunshine trade-off might actually be a good thing, though I hadn't done my research and up until a few minutes ago believed that GS would be way sunnier throughout the year.

Brisbane has been a lot cooler this week too. Autumn is just around the corner.

Perth's just burning, as usual. I could go off my home town.

Yeah, Brisbane has nothing on Perth. I remember last time I lived there the extremes nearly killed me, even with the warm weather we've had in Brissy this summer, I still prefer the weather here.

I have been wearing a hoodie the last few nights sitting outside on my balcony in Brisbane. Cooler weather is setting in I think.
